Only Beit Shemesh took more Anglo olim children than Jerusalem, where they were just 15% of arrivals

Counting children and counting shares point to different towns, and a family looking for peers who arrived recently needs both.

Among Anglo olim in 2023 to 2025, Beit Shemesh took the most children under 18 (730) and Jerusalem the second most (509). But in Jerusalem children were just 15% of Anglo arrivals, against 51% in Kiryat Gat, 46% in Tel Mond, 45% in Efrat, 44% in Beit Shemesh, 42% in Modi'in and 30% in Ra'anana. They were 10% in Herzliya and 4% in Tel Aviv. Nationally 21.4% of Anglo olim were under 18.

Young adults cluster the other way. Of Herzliya's Anglo arrivals 64% were aged 18 to 29, as were 55% in Tel Aviv and 52% in Be'er Sheva, against 39.0% nationally.

So "where do Anglo families go" has two answers. By number of children it is Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem. By share of arrivals it is Kiryat Gat, Tel Mond, Efrat, Beit Shemesh and Modi'in.

Ce que cela ne montre pas

Age at aliyah is recorded per person with no household link, so "families" is inferred from the share of children. A high share of young adults can reflect students and programmes rather than people settling. Ramat Gan, Harish and Haifa are left out because a share there, read with the Opportunity Atlas, could reveal a group under 11.

Que faire

If you are moving with children and want peers who arrived recently, start with the towns where a high share of Anglo arrivals are children, then check schools and rent there.

Méthode

Age bands per origin group and first locality from the Ministry record-level file, 2023 to 2025 combined (agg.py). Every count and share here is checked, together with the Opportunity Atlas and the where-olim-land file, so that no group under 11 can be worked out from them.
