Netanya took 252 Anglo olim in 2025, the most in the 11 years of the Ministry series (the previous high was 233 in 2021). Of the 252, 98 (39%) were 65 or older and another 69 were 45 to 64.

Over 2023 to 2025, 32% of Netanya's Anglo olim were 65 or older, against 12.8% of Anglo olim nationally. Only 12% were children.

For retirees that means peers arriving at the same stage, a 26-minute train to Tel Aviv HaShalom and family rent about 3% below the national average.

What this does not show

Netanya does not qualify for the larger olim rent aid. The atlas does not measure hospital access, and retirees face their own old-age benefit rules. The file records the first locality only, so it cannot say how many stay.

What to do

If you are retiring to Israel, check hospital access and your old-age benefit rules before you commit. If you will rent, compare Netanya with towns that qualify for the larger rent aid, which requires not owning a home.

Method

Counts by year, origin group and age band from the Ministry record-level file, 2015 to 2025 (agg.py). Rent from CBS Table 4.9 and the train time from the GTFS connection scan.
